Walk or Cycle the Confederation Trail
Confederation Trail gives access to wildlife, museums and quaint towns

Tignish is one of the northern most towns in all Prince Edward Island, situated on the north western tip of the province. Tignish is also a part of Prince County. The village of Tignish was first formed in the late 1700s, when a group of Acadian settlers ventured to the area for its advantageous fishing location. In the next century, Irish settlers came followed by Scottish and English settlers. Tignish is still a successful fishing community to this day. The community of Summerside is 82.8 km (51.5 mi.) southeast of Tignish.

For visitor information and local history, visit the Tignish Cultural Centre. The Dalton Museum, now located in a schoolhouse from the 1930s, also offers valuable insight into the history of Tignish. Tignish is home to the beautiful St. Felix Golf and Country Club, which is a scenic, nine holes course. While in Tignish, enjoy the exciting Canada Day celebration, delicious local and international foods, guided tours, Acadian music, local art and breath-taking views of a pretty, lush landscape.

Tignish accommodations include cottages and bed and breakfasts.
