Oyster Bed Bridge is located centrally, near the northern shores of Prince Edward Island, along Highway 6 (Portage Road). Oyster Bed Bridge is also a small community, still not yet incorporated. Formerly, Oyster Bed Bridge was Oysterbed Bridge, but the "bridge" became separate from "bed" in 1939. Oyster Bed Bridge is an approximate driving distance of just 19.1 km (11.9 mi.) north of Charlottetown.
Oyster Bed Bridge is home to drag racing, as well as the Dayboat Restaurant, which offers amazing views along the water, delicious local seafood and generous hospitality. Oyster Bed Bridge is also home to shopping, offering accessories and clothing from such places as Scotland, Ireland and Newfoundland. As well, beaches at Oyster Bed Bridge include swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing and much more. Just north of Oyster Bed Bridge is the Prince Edward Island National Park, which is situated on the northern shore and offers many exciting activities.
