Eldon, a small unincorporated community belonging to Queens County, is positioned on the southern shores of Prince Edward Island, near the south eastern portion of the province along the northern shores of the Northumberland Strait. As well, Eldon overlooks Orwell Bay. Eldon was first settled in 1803, when a large group of Scottish immigrants led by Lord Selkirk ventured to the area. Eldon is also a stop on the distinguished TransCanada Highway, only 36.3 km (22.6 mi.) southeast of provincial capital of Charlottetown.
Eldon is positioned just a few minutes away from the Lord Selkirk Provincial Park, which holds many Scottish and Celtic themed events, live concerts, dances, games, various sporting events, as well as beautiful views of shoreline cliffs that overlook the ocean, a beach and the Belfast Highland Greens golf course. The Selkirk Settlement is another excellent choice for tourists looking to absorb more local culture, featuring the destination of the arrival of some 800 Scottish settlers in 1803. As well, a flea market in Eldon sells a wide range of items throughout the year. Eldon also holds an annual highland games festival.
Eldon accommodations include cottages.
