The small community of Clinton is positioned on Lot 20 of Prince Edward Island, centrally located on the island. Clinton, an unincorporated community, was founded in the early 1800s, and is a member of Queens County. As well, Clinton was initially known as Kerrytown, which was later changed. Irish settlers were the first to settle in Clinton and were known then are Kerrymen, hence the town title. Clinton is 22.2 km (13.8 mi.) northeast of Summerside
