Red Point, a modest, yet tranquil community, is positioned on the eastern portion of Prince Edward Island, along Highway 16 on the northern shores of the Northumberland Strait. Red Point is still an unincorporated community, due to its small size and population. As well, a ferry service just outside Red Point runs north all the way to Cap-aux-Meules. Red Point is a total driving distance of 90.1 km (56 mi.) northeast of Charlottetown.

Red Point is home to one of the most popular Provincial Parks in all Prince Edward Island, boasting beautiful views of the ocean, a glorious beach fit for swimming and so much more. Nearby attractions include the Basin Head Fisheries Museum, which is a Heritage site, offering artefacts, displays, dioramas, a gift shop, interesting stories and a white sand beach. As well, the nearby East Point Lighthouse offers picnicking areas, bird-watching, a crafts shop and more. Red Point also features a tourist information centre, walking paths, whale-watching, fishing, kayaking, fine-ding, souvenir shops and plenty of hospitality.

Red Point accommodations include campgrounds and cottages.
