Officially in 1954, North Rustico became an incorporated municipality in the northern area of Queens County in Prince Edward Island. Fleeing British capture and the likely hood of deportation during the Seven Years' War, Acadian people founded North Rustico, a small fishing harbour village, as a place of refuge. Fishing to this day is still North Rustico's most important industry. North Rustico has a charming waterfront boardwalk that overlooks the bay and fishing boats and docks, great for an evening walk after a true Maritime seafood dinner. In North Rustico there is a museum for the history of fishing in the area, the Rustico Harbour Fishery Museum.

Tourism is the other main industry for North Rustico, with North Rustico being a part of Cavendish Beaches & The Dune Shores Tourism Association. North Rustico is famous for its amazing Canada Day celebration it puts on every year. The festivities include a parade down Main Street, a boat parade in Rustico's Harbour, and the day ends with a fireworks display over the bay. Another playful attraction while visiting in North Rustico you shouldn't miss, especially if traveling with children is the Santa Woods kid's amusement park. With mini-golfing to a petting zoo, there are activities for kids of all ages. North Rustico is 32 km (20 mi.) from Charlottetown.

We are located on the Cape Road off Route 6, half-way between Cavendish and North Rustico, a three minute drive from either point. White Sands grounds are spacious and ideal for children who are enjoys swings, tilts, and sandbox provided. Visitors young and "young at heart" enjoy a dip in the heated 20's x 40's fenced swimming pool. Each cottage has a deck, propane BBQ, and its own picnic table.
