Murray Harbour Weather

Murray Harbour is a small fishing community, located on the south eastern shores of Prince Edward Island along Highway 18. Murray Harbour is also a member of Kings County. Original inhabitants of Murray Harbour were the Mi'kmaq, who named the land here Eskwadik and Kwodomak, meaning "fishing place" and "bay comes to an end," respectively. The town name derives from General the Honourable James Murray, a Quebec Governor in the 1760s.

A railway in Murray Harbour opened in 1905 that led to Charlottetown. As well, shipbuilding was a main industry here. Today, Murray Harbour is a successful fishing and tourism community. Murray Harbour is 53.2 km (33.1 mi.) east of Charlottetown.

Beyond numerous attractions, Murray Harbour is also home to glorious scenery, such as the Kings Byway Scenic Drive, which hugs the eastern coastline, offering views of the shore, the ocean, the vast skies and the beautiful land. The Log Cabin Museum carries over three thousand artefacts from over a century ago and all the rooms are designed to suit life back then as well. Murray Harbour is home to the Rail Head Park, a lookout site, the Confederation Trail, live theatre, gift shops, a marina and all the amenities a visitor could need.
