Morrell is a small village situated in Kings County on the north eastern shores of Prince Edward Island. As well, Morrell is positioned on Highway 2 (St. Peters Rd.) on St. Peter's Bay near the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The first inhabitants of the Morrell area were the Maritime Archaic Indians. The Mi'kmaq also resided here before the Europeans came. Morrell, the town name, was given in honour of Jean Francois Morel, who came here in the early 1700s from France. The community of Morrell was incorporated in 1953, and consists mostly of Scottish, English, Irish and French families. The main industry in Morrell is fishing, as well as tourism. Morrell is located 42.4 km (26.3 mi.) northeast of Charlottetown.

Morrell is the proud home of Mooney's Pond, which is used to breed Atlantic Salmon. Mooney's Pond also acts as an interpretive centre, offering tours, equipment rentals, a picnic area, natural trails and so much more. Morrell is also minutes from a beautiful 18-hole golf course, positioned on the breath-taking Prince Edward Island shoreline. As well, kayak and bicycle rentals are available. Enjoy watching the wildlife, all the pretty sights, delicious fine-dining, and relaxing and rejuvenating at a spa.
