Panmure Island is a small community positioned in Kings County, on the south eastern portion of Prince Edward Island. The town name is derived from the island that it is a part of, and though the island is connected to the rest of Prince Edward Island, it used to be disconnected during high tides before the construction of a causeway, which allows for easy access to the island. As well, the Mi'kmaq once used the island in summer months. Panmure Island, the island and not the town, was purchased by a Scottish settler in the 1800s and divided into lots. Panmure Island, the community, is mostly a tourism destination in summer months and also thrives on fishing and farming. Panmure Island is a driving distance of 70.6 km (43.9 mi.) southeast of Charlottetown.

Panmure Island is home to the Panmure Island Lighthouse, the oldest wooden lighthouse in all Prince Edward Island. The lighthouse also offers beautiful views of the coast, the ocean and a beach. As well, the lighthouse offers history of the community of Panmure Island and its surrounding area. A white sand beach, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, history and vast, breath-taking views are all offered at the Panmure Island Provincial Park. Be sure to experience the stunning sunrises and sunsets at Panmure Island, too.

Panmure Island accommodations include seaside bed and breakfasts, motels and vacation homes.
