Darnley is a small, unincorporated community that can be found on the northern shores of Prince Edward Island, positioned just a short drive east of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Park along Highway 20. Darnley is primarily a fishing community, consisting of a seaside harbour, a boat slip and a wharf. It is believed that Darnley was first formed in the early 1800s. Darnley is 29.8 km (18.5 mi.) northeast of Summerside, which is situated on the opposing southern coastline.

Darnley is located in the midst of glorious rolling hills, a spectacular coastline view, lush green farmlands and the always beautiful Gulf of St. Lawrence, all of which can be viewed on Country Line Road. The Malpeque Lighthouse, positioned on a field near the shoreline, is home to an advantageous view of the sea and the northern shores. As well, Darnley is home to its own golf course, a nine hole course consisting of all par three holes. RV trailer and car rentals are also available.

Darnley accommodations include bed and breakfasts and cottages.
